ORTHODONTICS
Braces & Orthodontic Care
Orthodontic assessment and treatment to improve tooth alignment, bite and smile aesthetics through an individual treatment plan.
More than straight teeth
Orthodontic treatment guides teeth into improved positions. While many patients are interested in the appearance of their smile, alignment can also influence how teeth meet, how easily some areas can be cleaned and overall dental function.
An assessment may help if you have
- Crowded or overlapping teeth
- Spaces between teeth
- Teeth that appear rotated or out of position
- Concerns about how the upper and lower teeth meet
- Previous orthodontic treatment followed by tooth movement
Your orthodontic journey
Assessment. We examine your teeth, gums and bite and arrange appropriate records or imaging where needed.
Planning. The treatment approach, expected duration, limitations and maintenance requirements are discussed.
Active treatment. Teeth are gradually moved and reviewed at scheduled appointments.
Retention. Retainers are an important part of helping maintain tooth positions after active treatment.
How long does orthodontic treatment take?
Treatment time varies significantly with the type and complexity of tooth movement required, the appliance used and how the teeth respond. A personalised estimate can only be given after assessment and treatment planning.
