RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY
Dentures
Custom removable tooth replacements designed to restore function, support your facial profile and help you smile and eat with greater confidence.
Restoring missing teeth with dentures
Dentures can replace several missing teeth or a complete arch. Modern dentures are designed around your mouth, bite and appearance, with the goal of providing a practical and comfortable solution where removable tooth replacement is appropriate.
Types of dentures
- Partial dentures replace selected missing teeth.
- Complete dentures replace all teeth in an upper or lower arch.
- Immediate dentures may be used in selected cases after extractions while healing takes place.
What to expect
Assessment. We examine the mouth, remaining teeth, gums and bite.
Measurements. Impressions and bite records help us plan the fit and appearance.
Try-in and fitting. Depending on the type of denture, trial stages may be used before the final appliance is completed.
Review. Adjustments may be needed as you adapt to the denture.
Getting used to a new denture
New dentures often take time to adapt to. Eating and speaking may feel different at first, and sore spots can sometimes develop. Follow-up appointments allow us to check the fit and make adjustments where needed.
Dentures and the tissues underneath them also need regular cleaning and review. We will show you how to care for your appliance and remaining natural teeth.
